placed for an upcoming stem pour for the bridge widening at Associated Road.
Bay Bridge Detour: Further Recognition

The SFOBB Temporary Bypass Structure recently received the 2011 Excellence In Transportation - Major Structure Award from the California Department of Transportation. The award recognizes the efforts of the Caltrans Toll Bridge Program, Bay Area Toll Authority, California Transportation Commission, and C.C. Myers, Inc.


The project was awarded a 2011 Aon Build America Merit Award on March 23 in Las Vegas at AGC of America's annual convention. This significant renovation project was highlighted by two very dramatic weekend closures. AGC's yearly recognition program honors member companies across the country. The Detour Tie-In Roll-Out/Roll-In portion of work performed over the 2009 Labor Day weekend received an Award of Merit in the transportation category at the 2010 Best of California Awards presented by McGraw Hill. This regional construction program is dedicated to honoring the best projects and the companies that design and build them in all 50 states. Sharing the recognition were the project Owner - Caltrans, Structural Designer - T.Y. Lin, International, and C.C. Myers, Inc. - General Contractor.

The Temporary Bypass Structure in the San Francisco Bay was also listed last year by TRC Solutions as one of the Top Projects of the Decade, honoring the clients that have contributed to their success over the company's history.

In early 2010, the project was awarded the 2010 Constructor Award in Meeting the Challenge of the Difficult Job-Heavy Engineering Classification from AGC California.
Industry Honors C.C. Myers, Inc.'s 1st Employee

Congratulations to Gary Janco, Executive Vice President, C.C. Myers, Inc., for recognition at the 56th Annual Golden Beaver Awards held in January where he received the Supervision Award for his achievements and contributions to the construction industry. The Beavers is an honorary organization formed, organized, and managed by construction companies and individuals who are heavily engaged in heavy engineering construction.

In April, Gary, in the industry for over 45 years, was honored with the Contractor Achievement Award by Associated General Contractors of California, an award presented to a member in good standing who has made a significant contribution to AGC and the construction industry, is held in esteem by his/her peers, and has worked a minimum of 25 years in the industry.

Gary developed his passion and commitment to building bridges after he had completed his apprenticeship way back in 1967. In 1977, Gary joined with Clint Myers, becoming the first employee and C.C Myers, Inc.'s first General Superintendent.

Public Broadcasting Station KVIE - Sacramento produced a documentary in its ViewFinder series entitled "Rebuilding the Boat: Fixing I-5 in Sacramento" - available for purchase at KVIE.org.

Professional Engineers in California - PECG - has sponsored the following documentaries. Another documentary of note is the Emmy winning "The Bridge So Far," another David L. Brown production.
