Myers, Inc replaced the 1958 bridge approach deck. Work started September 26, 2005 and was completed in November 2005. The work consisted of removing and replacing approximately 110,000 square feet of concrete deck. In addition to the deck replacement, CCM constructed a seismic expansion joint that will be used for research and development of the seismic expansion joint installed in the new east span of the Bay Bridge.
