The Lake Natoma Crossing project, a locally-funded effort by the City of Folsom, involved a 5,500 foot long stretch of construction connecting commuter arteries to the north and south of downtown Folsom. Four new traffic lanes skirt historic downtown Folsom in a 100 foot wide corridor at twenty-four feet below grade and extending across the new bridge over Lake Natoma and Negro Bar State Park.

The bridge is a technically complex two frame, post-tensioned, lightweight concrete box girder structure supported on state-of-the-art seismic isolation bearings. It has extensive aesthetic features and unique lightweight concrete cast-in-place architectural arches rising over Lake Natoma.
